The Tame and the Wild
March 4th through March 27th, 2010
Pacini Lubel Gallery is excited to present an exhibition titled "The Tame and the Wild" from March 4th through March 27th. This gallery wide exhibition will include a diverse group of artists working with a multitude of medium. Glass, ceramic, oil on panel, wood, iron, wire, fabric, and natural skins are all included in this exhibition. The title, "The Tame and the Wild" allowed the artists to work from a somewhat ambiguous central theme - artistic freedom of expression was paramount in this animal themed exhibition. Artists included are from all parts of the country with the great majority from the Northwest.
KeKe Cribbs creates a multi-media piece etched in fantasy while Jeanne Brennan continues her exploration of bird themed wall mounted glass sculpture. Ceramists Joey Chiarello, Russell Wrankle, Margaret Keelan and Debbie Kupinsky create ceramic sculpture with their clearly unique and identifiable styles. Jan Hopkins uses a multitude of natural skins to create her sculpture. Lindsay Ketterer Gates incorporates wire and multimedia to create her majestic sculptural pieces. John and Robin Gumaelius incorporate ceramic, metal and wood into their whimsical sculpture. Cynthia Toops creates art utilizing micro-mosaic pieces of polymer clay. Karen Fraizen's beautiful fabric pieces harkens to the natural wonders of her native Alaska while Jacob Foran presents a large ceramic mixed media sculpture with a tethered dog to a wood post.
Please join us for our opening, Thursday, February 4 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
